The Great & British Radical Championships
- "Drivers Know"

Drivers Know!A major change in club motorsport was officially announced by Dunlop at the Autosport International Show. The “Great & British” Motorsport Festival package was launched to a great fanfare. Two Radicals starred on the “Great & British” stand while a video outlined the benefits of the package.

Here are the key benefits of racing a Radical in the “Great & British” Dunlop Motorsport Festivals package:-
  • Calendar – 9 rounds at top UK circuits plus Spa Francorchamps, spaced evenly throughout the season. 2006 Racing Calendar

  • Format – all rounds comprise testing and qualifying on the Saturday and two races on the Sunday. No need to test on the Friday.

  • Other championships – The Mini Challenge and Ginettas will race at all “Great & British” rounds. Other invitation series ranging from historic sportscars to trucks will support individual rounds. A new Production Saloon Series will join the package in 2007.

  • Trackdays – The Friday prior to each “Great & British” event is a trackday run by Evo magazine. Ideal for giving friends and sponsors rides around the circuit.

  • TV coverage - (click for details) An hour long “Great & British” programme covering both Radical championships, the Minis and Ginetta will be aired on Sky Sport in the UK and throughout the world, plus a dedicated half-hour Radical race programme willrun on Motors TV. • Event Organisation – Each round will be organised by the BARC who will manage each event in a very driver friendly way. The same high quality Clerks, Eligibility Scrutineers and paddock Marshals will attend all events.

  • Spares Support – Radical will attend each round with their comprehensive Spares truck and Dunlop will provide a highly professional tyre fitting service. Tyre prices for the SR3 and SR8 are as 2005, fitting is free. To enable teams to comply with the latest safety rules, high-octane race fuel will be delivered at cost price to every race team by Anglo American.

  • Hospitality – Café Dunlop will be at the heart of the paddock village. Hospitality awnings from Radical and the other races series will form a large driver-friendly hospitality area. Dedicated hospitality can be arranged for teams and sponsors.

  • Entry Fees – entry fees for the Biduro and Enduro championships are similar to the last two years making them exceptional value for a televised package.

  • Pre-booking races – Radical competitors can pre-book the whole season and guarantee their entries without having to pre-pay.

  • Double-header Format – All races are double headers. The fastest time set in practice decides the grid for the first race and the second quickest sets the grid for the second. The two race format for the Enduros negates refuelling and keeps teams costs down. Pit stops for the Enduros will be 45 seconds for both single and two driver teams to allow second drivers with HANS devices time to get properly belted up.

  • Prizes – the winner of the Biduro Championship will win a test in an SR8 and the winning driver of the Enduro championship will win a test in an SR9 Le Mans prototype.

  • Other Racing - The Radical World Cup supports the Le Mans Series at Donington plus races at Spa, Estoril and Dubai. Radical have new Championships which run in Scotland, Ireland, Portugal, Germany and Sweden. So there is plenty of action for those requiring more racing.

  • Pre–season Test - Attend our pre-season test at Snetterton on 16th March. 4 × 45 minute test sessions will be run for a maximum of 40 cars. Dunlop will be on hand with Café Dunlop and a full tyre fitting service, and the championship Scrutineer will be on hand in the Scrutineer bay to give your car a pre-season check over.
